They opened up a Forever 21 store in our mall just recently, so Carly and I headed over to do some shopping. Hours later, we are home, and because I've yet to unpack my purchases, the yellow 'Forever 21' bag is lying on my bed, so that I can see that on the bottom of the bag is printed the following:

John 3:16

I ran into Carly's room to check her bag, and her has the same on it. I looked it up on the internet and it's a bible verse! I'm not going to quote it because I'm not religious and it's not my place to quote the bible on my livejournal. But this sort of weirded me out. Well, really weirded me out. So I called up customer service to ask what that was about.

They told me that Forever 21 is a privately owned company, and that it was deliberate, and the owners have been printing the bible quote on their bags for some time now. I just... had no idea what a bible quote thing is doing on the bottom of my shopping bag. I don't know how I feel about that. Do they only expect bible-following Christians to shop at their stores?

To clarify: I'm Jewish, but I'm not religious and I don't believe in god. I'm not too fond of any religions, and this whole bible-verse-on-my-bag as a subtle hint that I should convert isn't really giving me much reason to like this religion in particular. No offense, but if I wanted to turn to god, it's my own damn business. Don't put it on my labels.
